Vintage Fashion & Textiles at Peter Francis

Vintage fashion is an expanding area at Peter Francis Auctioneers and in the auction market in general. Our regular antiques & collectables auctions often feature vintage fashion items including: fur coats, handbags, silk scarves, vintage clothing (1920s-1980s), wedding dresses and Victorian/Edwardian clothing. We never know what we are going to see from day to day in the saleroom and every auction turns up something interesting. We have had everything from an Edwardian driving outfit to 1970’s Welsh tapestry cloaks come through the sales. Currently, there are still bargains to be had for buyers who will find prices with us to be less than in vintage clothing stores. 

Textiles are a popular area of our auctions and we are a leading seller of local Welsh tapestry blankets. Recently we had an estate sale collection of antique narrow loom blankets and 19th Century Welsh costumes which did very well and were largely sold to local collectors and Welsh museums. We also regularly sell antique quilts, embroidered tableware, tapestries, samplers and even curtains.

For sellers all of our items are online and as such are exposed to a worldwide market. Valuations are free and are held every other Friday in our Carmarthen salerooms.
