Militaria & Weapons at Peter Francis

As an auction house holding such regular auctions there are always lots featuring weapons, antique firearms and militaria available to bid on. The market for such lots has been strong in recent years and continues to grow, with interesting items often coming to the sale with us for the first time as part of estate clearances.

It is important to make sure that the items you have are correctly appraised, identified and catalogued. This is particularly important when dealing with firearms and sporting guns as current licensing regulations need to be adhered to. We have a good relationship with the local Police Firearms Department and are able to make sure that all relevant paperwork is correctly completed on the vendors behalf.

We are extremely fortunate to have available the services of George D Geear B.A, M.I.Exp.E, F.R.S.A as a consultant to the firm on all matters appertaining to firearms and weapons. George is an expert across a wide range of subjects and is particularly skilled in the handling of explosives and ordnance, which we don't usually have a need for! He is the operations Director of Chapel Bay Fort down in Angle, Pembrokeshire, a fascinating and extensive museum of weapons and ordnance in a spectacular location. George never fails to surprise us with the identification of unusual items as they occur and is invaluable in backing our own experienced cataloguers to ensure the best descriptions are made available to our buyers on behalf of our vendors.
