19th century oak eight day long case clock marked John Ashton, Leek (Staffordshire), the case with broken swan neck pediment to hood above arched aperture flanked by baluster pilasters, cross banded waste door flanked by quarter reeded pilasters on a panelled base with bracket feet. Painted Roman face with seconds dial and date aperture, decorated with sporting scene to the arch and foliate spandrels. Eight day two train movement strikes on one bell.
