18th century oak eight day English long case clock by Joshua Hewlett of Bristol (recorded mid 18th century died 1764 in partnership with Isaac Hewlett his brother who died in 1778), the hood having caddy top above square aperture flanked by three quarter turned columns ,plain waist door on a panelled base with shaped apron. Square Roman brass face with silvered chaptering and seconds dial with date aperture and foliate cast spandrels. The dial measuring 12 inches square. Eight day two train brass movement with baluster pillars, striking on one bell. Together with pendulum and two weights. (B.P. 21% + VAT)
