18th century French silver and silver gilt compendium/complication desk clock marked 'J C Mercier, A Belfort', having straight sided standing case with glazed opening face and similar opening recess to the base, the case in enamel with carious dials to include: seconds, hours, days, months, moon phases and seasons. Drum type movement with foliate pierced balance cock. together with key. 10cm long x 3.8cm high approx. (B.P. 21% + VAT)
General wear commensurate with age, the enamel face is cracked, overall rather grubby. Movement ticks briefly.
