Regular Antiques, Interiors & Collectables Sales

For all our sales items are catalogued, given estimates and photographed. The full catalogue is available on our own website under the Auctions tab above, on www.ukauctioneers.com and on www.the-saleroom.com. Live bidding is also available on all of our sales at www.the-saleroom.com. All of these websites are readily available internationally and our international clients buy lots purely from catalogue descriptions. We regularly have enquiries and bids from as far afield as the U.S.A, Australia, continental Europe and Asia. All of our sales are advertised in a leading Antique & Fine Art Publication as well as a National Daily and Local Weekly papers.

Prior to the sale Vendors will receive a pre-sale advice letter by post and email confirming lot number, reserves and estimates. Lots will only have a reserve if one is confirmed by the Vendor. We recommend that any lot with a estimate lower than £50 does not have a reserve placed on it. Items that go unsold will be re-entered in a subsequent suitable sale with reduced reserves as necessary unless we are contacted by the vendor with instructions to the contrary. There is no storage charge for items awaiting sale, re-entry or collection for vendors. There are storage charges applicable for buyers if they do not collect bought lots within a week of the sale. After the sale a post-sale advice letter is sent out by email (this can be sent by post if requested) with a breakdown of how each lot sold.

Peter Francis are committed to accurate estimates on all the lots we handle and carry out diligent research, involving specialists where appropriate.

Catalogued Antique & Fine Art Sales

Items included in this sale are catalogued in detail and lots are photographed (subject to a small charge) at auctioneers discretion and put in our high quality printed catalogues. These sales are individually advertised in leading Antique & Fine Art Publications as well as a National Daily and Local Weekly papers.  We have extensive mailing lists and the full catalogue is available via a Fine Art Information Service.

The full catalogue is available online on various websites internationally as described above for our regular sales. Bids can also be made live online at www.the-saleroom.com. In addition to our live sale held both in the saleroom and online there is a online only timed sale that takes place after the main auction for any lots that go unsold in the live auction. This ensures a second chance for items to sell.

As per our general sales Prior to the sale Vendors will receive a pre-sale advice letter by post and email confirming lot number, reserves and estimates. Lots will only have a reserve if one is confirmed by the Vendor. Items that go unsold will be re-entered in a subsequent suitable sale with reduced reserves as necessary unless we are contacted by the vendor with instructions to the contrary. After the sale a post-sale advice letter is sent out by email (this can be sent by post if requested) with a breakdown of how each lot sold.
